Here is the finished project for reference. If you use a heavy or even padded bed roll fabric you will obviously want to increase the strap lengths. Its important to get a good tight roll on the bed roll. You don’t want creepy crawlys getting into it, and you don’t risk dirt and junk and unraveling on the trail with it tight as well.


Here is a close up shot of the buckle and suede leather straps. When you cinch this down tight it can be difficult to release the straps. Having a key or stick handy can pry the d rings apart and release it.


And just for fun this is the bedroll attached to our basic travel pack. We use 2 inch rings to allow for some play in this configuration, but you don’t have to be a total lemming and do what we do all the time.
